About This Park
Merrell Trail is a roughly 7-mile machine-built flow trail in Plainfield Township near Belmont, designed by Spectrum Trail Building and constructed with over 4,000 volunteer hours from the West Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance, which maintains it. The trail runs one-way with direction alternating by day and features berms, tabletop jumps, fast descents, and elevated wooden bridges and structures. A 2022 rebuild turned the Wynalda section into a bike-optimized expert trail with jump lines and larger berms, and added a green-level jump line at the Belmont Avenue trailhead. Trailheads with parking are on Belmont Avenue and at Premier Park on 10 Mile Road, and night riding is permitted.
